Is My Staub Defective?

Is My Staub Defective?

Staub is made in France and each dutch oven/cocotte is one of a kind and finished by hand. Each piece varies if form and colour due to the manufacturing process and the fact that each piece is made one at a time. Each cast iron product is sand casted. Each mold is only used once and then gets destroyed. That truly makes each Staub cast iron product a unique piece. Rather than saying a piece is made, Staub prefers to say a piece is "born". The high quality enamel is coated on the interior and exterior with 2-3 layers. The Majolica enamelling technique offers 3 layers, each piece is hand sprayed with enamel colouring - this means each piece will be slightly different. Staub cast iron cookware allows each piece to be one-of-a-kind and unique, just like a finger print.
