Getting the Best Results with Your New Superautomatic Espresso Machine
Ready to master your new superautomatic espresso machine? Follow these simple suggestions and guidelines to get the best possible results.
1. Adjust Your Grinder Setting
The grinder is key to a great espresso. For Philips/Saeco machines, a setting of level 4 or 5 is ideal. For all other brands, start with a mid-point setting. For example, if your machine has eight grinder settings, level 4 is a great place to start.
After adjusting your grinder, it takes a few tries for the change to take effect. Brew about 5-10 espressos to see the improvement in your beverage quality and the consistency of the coffee pucks in the waste container.

2. Use the Right Beans
The type of coffee bean you use is extremely important. We highly recommend using non-oily beans that have a dry, matte texture. Avoid beans that look shiny or oily, as they can clog your grinder and affect your machine's performance over time.
For a stronger, bolder flavor, use a non-oily dark roast bean.

3. Max Out the Strength Setting
To get a bold and rich flavor, always set the strength to the maximum level. This tells the machine to use the largest amount of coffee for your drink, resulting in a more robust and flavorful espresso.
By making these simple adjustments, you'll optimize your machine's performance and enjoy a superior cup of coffee.
